Description

Small grains of Gold (0.5 cm x 0.2 cm) embedded into large, white massive Quartz crystal. Gold (Au) can be gold-yellow, brass-yellow or pale-yellow and does not tarnish. Lustre is metallic and streak is gold-yellow and shiny. Hardness is 2 1/2 to 3. Gold usually occurs as octahedral or dodecahedral but can also be cubic. Commonly distorted and can also occur as grains, scales, lumps, plates, leaves and wires.
