Description

Original Description:*Incomplete. Hematite (Fe2O3) can be steel-grey, reddish brown or black. Lustre is metallic and streak is dark red, cherry-red or brownish red. Hardness is 5 to 6. Hematite can be thick to thin tabular that are often subparallel growths or rosettes. Hematite can also occur as compact, granular, radiated, reniform, botryoidal, columnar, micaceous (Specular) or earthy (Red Ocher).
