Labradorite (Na,Al,Si3O6) is the variety of Plagioclase that has a play of colours. Lustre is vitreous but pearly on cleavage surfaces and streak is white. Hardness is 6 and cleavage is good in two directions at nearly right angles and poor in a third direction. Twinning striations is often common on cleavage surfaces that can be curved. Labradorite can be lamellar, granular, disseminated or rosettes.
