Description

Purple fluorite [CaF2] occurring as an aggregate of large, intergrown, blocky crystals. Crystals range from translucent purple to very dark violet-purple, with uneven colour distribution and locally distinct colour zoning. Broad, flat crystal and cleavage surfaces display a vitreous lustre, with stepped cleavage visible on portions of the specimen. Minor pale inclusions or surface material are locally present.
