Description
Sample of bluish green microcrystalline Chrysocolla on a Mudstone matrix.
Chrysocolla (Cu2H2Si2O5(OH)4) can be green, bluish green, blue or can also be brown and black from impurities. Lustre is vitreous, greasy or dull and streak can be white to pale blue or green. Hardness is 2 to 4. Chrysocolla usually occurs as microcrystalline that can be compact reniform, botryoidal masses or opal-like in appearance.
