Description
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Mollusca
Class: Cephalopoda
Subclass: Ammonoidea
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Brachiopoda
Class: Rhychonellata
Cast and mold of an ammonite embedded in the sediment. Two brachiopod valves near the cast of the ammonite.
Ammonite cast has four visible whorls and appears to have a cadicone shell with prominent ribs. Umbilicus is slightly visible. No visibility of the aperture.
Mold of the ammonite is of a partial whorl with prominent ribs.
The largest brachiopod valve appears to be the pedicle valve that is partially missing part of the posterior end. Thin ribs and growth lines are visible on the valve. Slightly convex on the anterior margin.
The smaller, partially preserved brachiopod valve near the cast of the ammonite appears to also be the pedicle valve and likely a different species from the other brachiopod valve. Thin ribs are visible. Anterior margin is slightly triangular in appearance.
