Description
Sample of small, numerous prismatic subhedral Citrine crystals with a vitreous lustre and some Smokey Quartz crystals.
Smokey Quartz (SiO2) and Citrine (SiO2) are both varieties of Quartz, with Smokey Quartz characterized as black or brown and Citrine characterized as yellow-orange in colour. Lustre is vitreous or greasy and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as long or short prismatic crystals that are terminated by double rhombohedrons and have striations crosswise. Quartz can also be granular, massive or disseminated.
