Description
Sample of a Geode with numerous, small prismatic subhedral Quartz crystals that are colourless and have a vitreous lustre. Average Quartz crystal size: 0.1 cm x 0.1 cm x 0.05 cm.
Quartz (SiO2) can come in a variety of colours from white to purple. Lustre is vitreous or greasy and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as long or short prismatic crystals that are terminated by double rhombohedrons and have striations crosswise. Quartz can also occur as granular, massive or disseminated.
