Description
Sample of thin prismatic Seriphos green subhedral Quartz crystals. Greasy lustre. Largest Quartz crystal size: 3.8 cm x 1.1 cm x 1.1 cm. This variety of Quartz is only found in Greece.
Quartz (SiO2) can come in a variety of colours from white to purple. Lustre is vitreous or greasy and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as long or short prismatic crystals that terminated by double rhombohedrons and have striations crosswise. Quartz can also be granular, massive or disseminated.
