Description
Sample of white/yellow of prismatic subhedral Danburite with a vitreous lustre.
Danburite (CaB2Si2O8) can be white to colourless but also shades of pale pink to straw yellow. Lustre is vitreous and streak is colourless. Hardness is 7 and cleavage is poor in one direction. Danburite usually occurs as prismatic crystals and resembles topaz. Striations along the length of the crystal face is common.
