Description

Sample of violet/green euhedral octahedron Fluorite crystals. Other side of the sample has green compact Fluorite. Vitreous lustre. Average crystal size: 1.2 cm x 1.1 cm x 0.8 cm. Fluorite (CaF2) can range in colour from violet, blue, green, yellow, brown, bluish black, pink, rose-red, white or colourless. Lustre can be vitreous and streak is white. Hardness is 4 and cleavage is perfect in all four directions and forms an octahedron. Fluorite usually occurs as cubic or penetration twins but can also be granular or compact.
