Shale

Description

Sample of shale with fine laminations including fine-grained sulphides seen within the lamination. Mount Isa Mine has two separate ore bodies; The first one is a Copper Ore body and the second one is Lead-Zinc-Silver ore. Both ore bodies are from the Urquhart Shale (Lower Proterozoic). This sample likely came from Lead-Zinc-Silver ore body because the copper ore occurs in dolomite rock. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Isa_Mines http://geology.com/rocks/shale.shtml
