Quartz Geode

UNB-2017-0198Minerals » Tectosilicates

Description

Sample of small, white granular Quartz crystals within a Geode. Lustre is vitreous. Quartz (SiO2) can have a variety of colours from white to purple and has either a vitreous or greasy lustre. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as short or long prismatic crystals that tend to be terminated by double rhombohedrons and have striations crosswise. Quartz can also be granular, disseminated or massive.
