Description

Four samples of grass-green subhedral prisms of Emerald with a vitreous lustre in quartz matrix. *Label says Chinese Emerald. Green Beryl (Be3Al2Si6O18) is known as Emerald and has a vitreous lustre and a colourless streak. Hardness is 7 1/2 to 8 and cleavage is indistinct in one direction.
