Description
Two samples of pink or green euhedral Grossular crystals (up to 9.0 mm in diameter) within a calc-silicate matrix.
Grossular is one of the calcium silicates of the Garnet group (Ca3Al2Si3O12) and can be colourless, white, yellow, pink, green or brown in colour. Lustre is vitreous and streak is colourless. Hardness is 6 1/2 to 7 1/2. Garnet usually occurs as dodecahedrons and trapezohedrons crystals.
