Description

Sample of colourless, with tints of red, euhedral cubic Halite crystals. Halite (NaCl) can be colourless, tints of grey, yellow, red or blue and has a vitreous lustre. Streak is white and hardness is 2 to 2 1/2. Cleavage is perfect in three directions at 90 degrees. Halite tends to occurs in cubic forms. A distinctive feature of Halite is the salty taste of the mineral.
