Description

Sample of a thin vein of Silver. Silver vein is 8.1 cm long. Silver (Ag) can commonly be tarnished yellow, brown or black. Lustre is metallic and streak is silver-white to light lead-grey that is shiny. Hardness is 2 1/2. Silver tends to occur as grains, scales, plate, wire, reticulated, arborescent but can (rare) occur as cubes, octahedrons, dodecahedrons or groups of parallel cubes and octahedrons.
