Description
Large sample of iron-rich rock with bands of Tiger eye near the margins.
Tiger Eye (SiO2) is the lustrous yellow to brown parallel fibres variety of Quartz. Lustre is vitreous or greasy and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as short or long prismatic crystals that are terminated by double rhombohedrons with striations crosswise. Quartz can also be granular, massive or disseminated.
