Description
Microcrystalline Chertwith mixture of rustic red, white, grey colours ("snake-skin Jasper"). One side is cut and polished.
Jasper (SiO2) is the variegated and mottled red, yellow and brown variety of Chalcedony (Variety of Quartz). Lustre can be waxy, dull or vitreous and streak is white. Hardness is 7 and usually occurs as microcrystalline but can also be crusts that are botryoidal form but also compact or banded.
