Description
A sample of compact smokey brown Flint with a dull lustre.
Flint (SiO2) is the name of whitish, dull grey, smokey brown to black variety of Chalcedony (A variety of Quartz). Lustre can be waxy, vitreous or dull and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Flint is usually the microcrystalline variety of quartz and can also occur as crust that are botryoidal and mammillary forms but can also be compact or banded.
