Description
Sample of blue bladed Kyanite with a vitreous lustre.
Kyanite (Al2SiO5) can be white, blue, grey, green, nearly black or colourless. Lustre is vitreous and streak is colourless. Hardness varies with a hardness of 4 to 5 lengthwise and 6 to 7 crosswise. Kyanite is usually found as bladed crystal aggregates.
