Description
Amorphous form of yellow-brown Limonite.
Limonite (FeO(OH) x nH2O) can be yellow or brown in colour with a glassy, silky or dull lustre. Streak is yellowish-brown and hardness is 4 to 5 1/2. Limonite is usually found as amorphous form or earthy, fibrous, botryoidal and stalactitic. Limonite is commonly pseudomorphous after pyrite, Marcastie and Siderite.
