Description

Large euhedral prismatic crystal of colourless Quartz. Terminated by double rhombohedrons. Greasy lustre and visible striations on the crystal faces. Quartz (SiO2) can come in a large variety of colours from white to purple. Lustre is greasy or vitreous and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz is usually found as short or long prismatic crystals that are terminated by double rhombohedrons and have crosswise striations. Quartz can also be granular, disseminated or massive.
