Description

Large colourless subhedral prismatic Quartz crystal that is terminated by a double rhombohedron. Lustre is greasy and faint striations crosswise along one crystal face. Quartz (SiO2) has a large variety of colours from purple to white and can also be colourless. Lustre is greasy or vitreous and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz is usually found as long or short prismatic crystals that are terminated by double rhombohedron but can also be granular, disseminated or massive.
