Description
Two samples of compact white to greyish Anhydrite with a vitreous lustre.
Anhydrite (CaSO4) can be white, greyish, bluish, reddish, brick-red or pale lavender. Lustre can be vitreous that is pearly on the cleavage. Streak is white to greyish and hardness is 3 to 3 1/2. Cleavage is good in three directions at 90 degrees. Anhydrite is usually found in massive forms but can also be granular, compact, fibrous or cleavable.
