Description

Large cleavable mass of Amazonite that is teal in colour with a vitreous lustre. Amazonite (KAlSI3O) is the light blue-green variety of Microcline and has a vitreous lustre. Streak is white and hardness is 6 to 6 1/2. Cleavage is good in two directions at 90 degrees. Amazonite can be found as single crystals of rectangular or square in cross section or can be tabular crystals. Amazonite is also commonly found as cleavage masses, granular or disseminated grains.
