Description

Labradorite with a strong blue colour that appears as flattened blades. Labradorite (CaAl2Si2O8) is one of the calcium-end members of the Plagioclase Feldspar Group. Labradorite is a play of colours and has a vitreous lustre that can sometimes be pearly on the cleavage. Streak is white and hardness is 6. Cleavage is good in two directions at nearly right angles and poor in a third direction. Labradorite can be flattened thin blades, lamellar, granular, disseminated, rosettes.
