Description

Yellowish-green granular sample of Epidote with a vitreous lustre. Epidote (Ca2Al2FeOSiO4O7(OH)) can be yellowish green to brownish black in colour with a vitreous lustre. Streak is colourless or grey and hardness is 6 to 7. Cleavage is perfect lengthwise. Epidote is usually found as long, slender, grooved prismatic crystals that are terminated usually by two sloping faces. Epidote can also be thick tabular crystals, massive, columnar, divergent, acicular or granular.
