Description

Sample of bladed blue Kyanite crystals with a vitreous lustre. Kyanite (Al2SiO5) can be blue, white, colourless, green, grey or nearly black in colour with a vitreous lustre. Streak is colourless and hardness is 4 to 5 lengthwise but 6 to 7 crosswise. Cleavage is perfect lengthwise and good in a second direction. Kyanite is usually founded as bladed aggregates and sometimes can be terminated crystals.
