Description

Large compact apple-green sample of Pyrophyllite with a dull lustre. Pyrophyllite (Al2Si4O10(OH)2) can be white, apple-green, grey or yellow. Lustre is pearly to dull and streak is white. Hardness is 1 to 2 and cleavage is perfect in one direction. Pyrophyllite usually occurs as foliated, fibrous or compact fine-grained masses.
