Description

Sample of Ore with grains/scales of Native Gold. Native Gold (Au) does not tarnish and has a metallic lustre. Streak is gold-yellow and shiny. Hardness is 2 1/2 to 3 and is quite ductile and malleable. Gold usually occurs as octahedral, dodecahedral or cubic crystals but is commonly distorted. Can also occur as grains, scales, lumps, plates, leaves and wires.
