Description

Sample of thin yellowish radial crystals of Natrolie with a vitreous lustre. Natrolite (Na2Al2Si3O10 x 2H20) is a white, colourless, greyish, yellowish or reddish mineral. Lustre is vitreous or silky and streak is colourless. Hardness is 5 to 5 1/2 and cleavage is perfect in one direction. Natrolite usually occurs as slender to acicular crystals but can also be radial, granular, compact. Commonly found in cavities of volcanic rocks as radiating groups.
