Description
Four samples of massive orange Cancrinite with a vitreous lustre.
Cancrinite (Na6Ca2((CO3)2)(Al6Si6O24)·2H2O) can be grey-green, white, yellow, blue, reddish or orange in colour. Lustre is vitreous, greasy or pearly and streak is white. Hardness is 5 to 6 and cleavage is perfect in one direction. Cancrinite usually occurs as massive forms but can be prismatic crystals (rare).
