Description
Polised sample of Red Agate.
Agate (SiO2) is a variety of Quartz (Chalcedony). Bright green with spots of red is considered Agate while bands are considered Moss Agate. Lustre can be waxy, vitreous or dull and streak is white and hardness is 7. Chalcedony is microcrystalline variety of Quartz but can also be mammillary, compact or banded.
