Description
Geode that is 6.5 cm diameter. Purple rim with white interior, strip of brown/red agate at base.
Agate (SiO2) is a variety of Quartz (Chalcedony). Bright green with spots of red is considered agate while bands would be moss agate. Lustre can be waxy, vitreous or dull and streak is white and hardness is 7. Chalcedony is microcrystalline variety of quartz but can also have mammillary forms, compact or banded.
