Description

Half of a spherical geode, 6.0 cm diameter. Light-grey banded geode, polished surface inside surrounded by weathered "granitoid" rock. Quartz (SiO2) can come in a variety of colours from white to purple. Lustre can be vitreous or greasy and streak is white. Hardness is 7. Quartz usually occurs as prismatic crystals, long or short, that are terminated by double rhombohedrons. Can also be granular, massive or disseminated.
